●When formulating waterborne silver paint, color deviation is a common concern reported by customers. From the perspective of waterborne aluminum pigment — the core component of waterborne silver paint — two key factors primarily contribute to this issue. 

●The first factor is the solid content fluctuation of waterborne aluminum pigment. As the main ingredient determining the paint’s appearance, the solid content of the pigment has a direct impact on the final effect. Even when added in the same proportion, waterborne aluminum pigment with higher solid content delivers better hiding power and a stronger metallic finish. In contrast, pigment with lower solid content results in reduced hiding power and diminished metallicity, ultimately leading to noticeable color deviation.

●The second critical factor is particle size deviation. While each waterborne aluminum pigment product has fixed particle size parameters, the irregular shape of aluminum flakes inherently causes uneven particle size distribution. This can lead to particles being either too coarse or too fine: coarser particles enhance the paint’s metallic effect, while finer particles boost its hiding power. Both scenarios, however, disrupt the intended color tone and result in color variation. 

●It is important to note that minor color deviation is unavoidable due to these natural fluctuations in solid content and particle size. For such cases, experienced colorists can effectively resolve the issue through subtle adjustments, leveraging their professional expertise to align the paint’s appearance with the desired standard.
